Interviu premiera in Romania: Timofey
Ceva articole in urma v-i l-am prezentat pe Timofey, un artist din Belgia. Am mai stat putin de vorba cu dansul, iar dupa cateva intrebari am reusit sa pun cap la cap un interviu. Iata rezultatul (nu cred ca mai e necesar sa afirm ca interviul este in limba engleza):
We are honored to be given this interview. For starters, could you tell us who is Timofey?
It’s a pleasure for me too. Timofey it’s me :) I’m a musician with 12years of experience. I was born in Russia in musical family. Right now I live and work in Belgium. I produce my own tracks as well as support lots of other projects. I’m also one of the founders of “17:44 records” label.
Since I was very little I went to the musical school. I sang in a chorus and played the flute. Later on I finished the conservatory and obtained the composer degree. Around that period I got my first computer and it literally changed my musical world. Samples, sequencers were much more of an interest to me than the classic symphonies and sonatas.
-Looking on your description I see that your music is a mixture of Funk, Trip-hop, Jazz and Ambient. When did you have your first contact whit this kind of music .
I always composed music in different styles. When I started to compose at age of 16, I spent several years searching for my own style. I took part in lots of projects and their styles did vary from rock to techno. With time I settled and kept going into house and electro, but it still happens to me to compose in trip-hop, ambient and jazz, just for fun.
-I know that you are both dj and music producer. Whit witch of this two “jobs” did you start in the music industry?
I first stared as a producer. I always felt like creating music and not simply replaying it behind the dj console. I always look forward into bringing more life and creativeness into my work. Right now I perform my live sets with Jazzmutant Lemur. Like that I have the complete liberty of performance while I’m playing.
-When did you started mixing and producing, and what gears did you used along the time?
My DJ performance is relatively recent – it started in 2006. Every time I perform with Ableton Live and Jazzmutant Lemur
I started to produce back in 1998 and right now using such gear as:

-Were did you started mixing and were are you mixing now? (are you a resident somewhere?)
I produce full time and mix occasionally. I perform as a guest on different parties and am not really interested in being a resident in any club.
-How do you produce your music?
I produce in my home studio. I usually start with a simple beat, then search an interesting sound for the bass and the partition. It all depends on what I have to start with. I prefer to compose for an existing acapella.
-I’ve heard some awesome featurings of yours over the internet. Could you say a few words about them and the persons whit whom you collaborate?
I love collaborations. It’s extremely cool because everyone has their own way of working, self inspiring, way of building up a track. While working together with someone you reconsider many things about your own ways and methods. I’ve already worked with Elektrokid, with Kylian Mash on tracks that featured Akon, with Dave Lambert on the remix for Mason – Exceeder and lots of others.
-Do you make enough money from music or do you have other jobs?
Last year I left my daily job and since then I live on what I earn with my music. I work a lot, but do only what I love and its hard to call it working. But sometimes there are days when at the end I feel really tired.
-Are you signed to any labels?
My track are signed on lots of labels, but I’m being completely free as an artist. Im thinking about the warner France’s offer to sign the exclusive contract with them.
-Do you have something special reserved for the future?
Yep, in a year I want to escape to some paradise island, live in a hut with my girlfriend, an electric plug, my laptop and compose music for my own pleasure only!
-Do you have your own web page were your fans can find you? Do you tweet?

-Could you say a few thigs about the music from Romania ?(I’ve added some links were you can hear some of Romania’s music)
Romania, competes very well with other European artists as in sound and creativeness. I’ve already heard lots of good and interesting projects form Romania here in Belgium and France.
-We thank you for giving us this interview, and for ending: do you have some words for the party people from Romania?

Intrebarile deloc inspirate, tipice, as putea spune.
Ce e de-a dreptul dezamagitor este engleza voastra…mai baieti, mai puneti mana pe o carte de lingvistica, gramatica, ceva, si apoi realizati interviuri cu artistii de afara!
Nu de alta, dar nu vrem ca “saracii” artisti sa isi creeze o conceptie gresita despre noi,romanii, atat de repede:)))
Daca te dai atat de perfecta, nu vrei sa ne rescrii tu interviul? Stii tu, este o categorie de romani care se dau rotunzi, dar numai gura e de ei, iar la o prima vedere tu te incadrezi perfect printre ei. Asadar, te rugam sa ne rescrii interviul cu engleza ta perfecta si sa ni-l trimiti la adresa office@highsound.ro ca sa ne creem noi o conceptie despre tine :-)
Subscriu Sergiu… De asemenea Roxy, am sa te rog sa faci ce te-a rugat si Sergiu. Nu stiu cum se face, dar eu nu am depistat nici o greseala, iar cele 2 certificate Cambridge pe care le am vorbesc de la sine. Ca sa facem totul mai interesant, punem la bataie si un premiu. Iti oferim un loc in echipa highsound si acces la nenumarati artisti, daca scoti un interviu mai reusit.
nu imi lasi si mie id-ul tau? poate iesim la o bere, sa mai invat si eu engleza. nu de alta, dar cred ca trebuie sa imi updatez atestatul in engleza.

@Sergiu: Exista o categorie de oameni ( din nefericire, pentru ca polueaza mediul ambient), care se cred atat de perfecti, incat nu isi pot admite propriile greseli.
Dupa 12 ani de engleza si un atestat (REAL) nu 2 “Cambridge” care nu stiu unde au fost date ( sau daca, tinand cont de varsta voastra) :)))))) cred ca stiu foarte bine sa scriu o fraza simpla in aceasta limba, spre deosebire de voi.
Cat despre premiu, thanks but NOT, nu imi pierd timpul cu asemenea copilarii::)))

@Roxy – pai sincer, ai degeaba cei 12 ani de engleza daca 8 din ei au fost la gradinita si la scoala primara :)) asa, si eu am chiar… 14! Cat despre examenele mele, te asigur ca sunt reale. :) Au fost sustinute in cadrul British Council Iasi, in aprilie 2008 si decembrie 2009.
Stii foarte bine sa scrii in limba engleza? Tu nu vezi ca supui limba materna unor chinuri groaznice? Nu cunosti regulile de redactare a unui text nici macar la nivel de incepator!
Cat despre mail, nu stiu cum sa iti spun, dar noi nu am primit nimic, dar cu toate astea iti sugerez sa accepti invitatia lui Bogdan. Sunt curios sa vad ce e de capul tau live.

@George: Dragule, 12 ani de engleza ai mei includ 4 ani de liceu cu predare in limba engleza + 4 ani de facultate, la fel, cu predare in limba engleza…+ ceva master…Ehm dar ce sa stii tu, un biet ignorant :))))
La capitolul limba romana, voi ar trebui sa fiti cei care sa cititi mai mult..mai ales la ce varste aveti :)))) Insa inteligenta si cultura sunt niste lucruri din ce in ce mai rar intalnite in Romania..aici cu atat mai putin..

bai nene, gata. ne-am distrat destul. hai sa fim si seriosi putin.uite, imi asum orice greaseala facuta, daca am gresit ceva trebuia sa imi spui concret ce , iar eu corectam.Da Roxy? nu are sens sa dezbatem cat de destepti suntem. eu am scris un articol despre Timofey, despre muzica lui. Asta conteaza aici. Daca aveti ceva de comentat, de dezbatut…. VA ROG atacati subiectul in tema.
“Criticati opera, nu autorul”, ….. muzica, nu limba mea engleza. Eu imi cer scuze pentru ca am fost rautacios. Facem pace Roxy? :)
Bogdane, crede-ma ca nimeni nu s-a luat din cauza greselilor. Tu deja ai ceva vechime la noi, si stii cum stau treburile. Atat pe blog, cat si in discutiile private, noi suntem niste oameni cu firi foarte prietenoase. Astfel, se subintelege faptul ca noi nu acceptam sub nici o forma aroganta. Dupa cum vezi, i-am atras atentia asupra unor greseli facute in limba romana, iar ea ne considera inferiori datorita varstei noastre.
Draga mea Roxy,
Din punctul meu de vedere poti fi profesor universitar, cu X facultati, X mastere, si X premii nobel. Daca nu esti in stare sa scrii in limba romana, daca nu esti in stare sa te ghidezi dupa niste reguli elementare de redactare a unui text, daca continui sa fii aroganta si ignoranta, din punctul meu de vedere, acei multi ani petrecuti prin liceu si facultati au fost inutili.
Crede-ma, daca erai fata ok, spuneai: “Ma, vezi ca acolo e asa, si nu asa, iar acolo ai gresit din nou, e asa, nu asa” crezi ca se supara cineva? Crezi ca avea cineva ceva de reprosat? NU! Ba chiar iti multumeam!
Sfatul meu este sa inveti cum sa fii om. Asta nu te poate invata nici un liceu si nici o facultate! Aroganta si ignoranta ta nu isi au locul aici, este o regula nescrisa. Daca consideri ca nu te poti adapta, te sfatuiesc sa apesi butonul marcat cu un X din dreapta sus.
